"Let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us" - Hebrews 8:1

At the Track ...

Update - 1st February, 2007

Victorian Championship...

Warrnambool Action

The Victorian Championships were held on 13th January at Warrnambool. The team was expecting a challenging night of racing and they arrived at the track early in the afternoon with plenty of time to set up then relax and soak in the atmosphere. Spare time allowed the team to mingle with the other competitors.

1st race ~ Position 5: Finished 6...Kev started well but was turned around by one of the 'big guns' trying to pass. Kev was sent rear of field because he was the primary stoppage of the race (he needed a push start to get him going again). By the finish of the race, Kev was in 6th place due to an adrenaline rush?!

2nd race ~ Position 2: Finished 3....After a messy start, we dropped to 4th then managed to move up to 3rd and hold it. A good result for us 'rookies'. 3rd race ~ Position 9: Finished 6...Kev had a very good run. He was able to tailgate a quick car who cut through the traffic for him. Another good result.

Result of the 3 heats: Kev's team qualified 13th in a field of about 40 cars. All the team was ecstatic!

The Final:
Kev started 13th and tailgated another driver. The race continued right into the 23rd lap when a serious accident put a stop to the marathon run. Due to driver error, 4 cars became entangled: thankfully no-one was injured, just very shaken. All the safety requirements were satisfied. At the re-start Kev was automatically 9th still behind the same driver but, due to that driver's steering failing on the last lap, Kev came in 8th. The whole team was 'over the moon' .

Thanks go to all the team, all the sponsors and all the people who have faithfully supported this project. We especially thank God for allowing us to be a part of His work, and our prayer is that He will become a reality to many in the racing fraternity, too.

God bless you all, Marg.
